Assistance
In 1997 CHOICE became the first recipient-run
agency to become independent of its fiscal sponsor and contract directly with
the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health.
Since
then, CHOICE has amassed a wealth of experience in the design and management of
programs staffed by people who have psychiatric disabilities. We have formulated
personnel policies and practices that both take into account the needs of the
staff as well as protect the agency from liability. We have also extended the
peer model and have hired individuals with substance abuse disorders and ex-offenders.
CHOICE staff members are available on a fee for service basis to provide
technical assistance to providers, agencies, municipalities and other parties
